Nothing wrong with calling yourself a writer? Of course not… hell, it’s imperative.
Now you’ve forced me to dig out a hand out from one of the classes I took that was taught by Judy Reeves: “How To Build A Sustainable Process.” Number one is “I identify myself as a writer. When someone asks me what I do, I answer, ‘I’m a writer.’ Or at least I always include it. ‘I earn my living as a teacher, and I’m a writer.’ Or, ‘I’m a writer and my day job is biomedical research.'”
