Try some BT. I was listening to it this morning, and so much of his stuff is so good, I think you’d be surprised at the variety one guy can produce!
“Dr. Jones” by Aqua… It’s good mindless music.
All those songs I sent you on that one CD of women are my current faves, but I also love Guy Forsyth’s “Whatever”, I don’t see why that shouldn’t be a big hit.
You should give John Wesley Harding a whirl (you have Westerburg and I’ve got Wes…)
check out the song “jesus on the grille” by willy porter. “not a bad thing” by terri clark or “until you’re dead” by melissa ferrick. if all else fails, listen to “omnibus” by Laut Sprecher.
🙂
interesting note: i interviewed willy porter when i was in college– wrote a few stories about him.
I’m loving everything on Ben Harper’s ‘Diamonds on the Inside’ right now. It’s beautiful music and always cheers me up.
And I can’t get past 10AM without Diet Coke, so I’m seriously impressed. I thought I was the only person able to drink Diet Coke as soon as they got up in the morning, but obviously not! 🙂
The “Exit Elvis” album by Tribe of Judah – hella interesting.
Coming from a guy that loves the Jayhawks and Wilco, so you should really go download it now. 😉
Cheers,
-R.
The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army
Firevision – Caught in the Rain
Ben Folds, Phish, Groove Armada. Ben Folds you have to watch out for. He can blindside you with a depressing song or two. Phish is practically never depressing. They’re too blissed out and drunk on the power they yield over the hippies who follow them. Groove Armada: too cool to be depressing. Oh, wait, Thievery Corporation. There’s some non-depressing lounge happiness. Oh yeah… I can’t listen to Tropicando without smiling. Also, if you just want to taste some happy music, jump on over to netmusique.com and try on their Jazzmusique channel. It’s tasty.
Check out Gavin Degraw! http://gavindegraw.com/
You can hear three songs on his site (they load when the site loads) and they played one on Smallville. I think you might just like him. 🙂
let’s go with a mraz theme here:
“dreamlife of rand mcnally” – fun and lighthearted; the rand mcnally company even sent him a globe cause they thought the song was so amusing…
“0% Interest” – great lyrics, and yet another fun one… he even breaks out with a little “our house” in the middle
“conversation with myself” – cause we all need to take ourselves on a date sometimes…
“after an afternoon” – just a great song
okay, i could literally go on forever… but one more:
“older lover”- her birthday suit suits her and she likes the WHO and Velvet Underground. ‘nough said…
if you’d like me to burn you a cd or email you an mp3, give me a hollar!
Ball and Chain by Sublime is one of the coolest songs ever! Smoke a little weed and listen to it… or being sober works too i suppose.
ENJOY!
Hi!
Does anyone know where to find Gavin DeGraw mp3’s???
You can find Gavin DeGraw mp3s on kazaa, but does anyone know where you can get his version of “Let’s Get It On?” Thanks!
I really like Gavin DeGraw’s song, ‘I don’t want to be’. It’s the theme song on ‘One Tree Hill’ which by the way is a GREAT show. It shows on ‘wb’. I have been searching all over the internet for his song but all I get is his lyrics. I want to listen to it. Besides Kazaa where can I find it on the net?thanks.
You should definitley check out Gavin Degraw – his CD is amazing! http://www.gavindegraw.com
I did some searching and all I could come up with was a one minute sample. Here it is: http://www.u2newzooland.com/one-tree-hill/mp3-sample.htm
