neener, neener

sister #2 snatched my book off the bar and shouted, “where did you get this?”

“it was a gift.”
“this is on my wishlist!!”
“yeah, it WAS on mine too.”
“you already have a copy.”
“do not.”
“yes, yes you do.”
“i do not.”
“i thought you had read the bell jar.”
“i did in high school.”
“you have a copy of this book, i know you do.”
“are you sure?”
“yes.”
“maybe. . . ” i said starting to doubt myself.
“you know jodi,” sister #3 butted in, “if you have so many books that you start buying doubles, you should probably get rid of some of them.”
“No!”
“i KNOW you have this book,” sister #2 said.
“if i do, you can have my old copy.”
“why don’t you just give me this one and you can finish reading your old copy?”
“why don’t you go to hell?”

so i checked when i got home. i don’t have another copy of the bell jar. at least not one that i could spy. so officially, that makes me right and her wrong.

neener, neener, neener.
