P.S. I almost forgot

Heh. I was just responding to a giant whack of e-mails that came my way. This should come to a surprise to everyone, because as most know I am the worst e-mail responder in the entire universe. Okay, the second worst. Ol’ Vodo is the first worst.

Anyway, it reminded me of one of the conversations Goetz and I had before the reading. He asked me if I stayed in touch with a lot of people from school.

“No,” I said. “I’m the worst e-mail responder in the whole world. I’ll get an e-mail once in awhile from someone who googles me or themselves, but I always forget to respond.”

So then shortly after the hug that shook my world, Walsh says to me, “How come you never responded to my e-mail?”
“Err . . . ” I fumbled.

And Goetz just stood there laughing his ass off.

it kind of makes me feel like a jackass, and has strengthened by resolve to respond to all personal e-mail immediately.

well, you may stink with the email, but i have rarely felt more welcome on a person’s website. you kick booty with the comments. you’re funny and witty and all those other positive adjectives. coming here is nice. coming here is fun.

maybe someday i’ll let you in on a little (DUM! DUM! DUUUUUUUUUM!) secret (but it isn’t the scary, stalker kinda secret, i promise! more of the i wonder if this person has posted comments on your site a long time ago and never really stopped reading since the dot-com days kinda secret). ya dig?

I used to be really bad at responding to comments too. I felt like it wasn’t really my place, kind of. Like I had all the space above the comments to say what I wanted and that I should let it ride. But someone called me out on it (UH perhaps?) and I’ve tried to do better.

I dig, now reveal the secret. You can’t talk about revealing a secret maybe someday, that’s just mean. MEAN.
