“you’re not mad at me for showing up at Grumpy’s last night are you?” FFJ asked when i called her about an hour ago.
“god no.”
“oh you just seemed freaked out and talked about world’s colliding.”
“because they did!” i took a deep breath ready to relate the night’s events at a speed that would blow her hair away from her face.
“stop!” she said. “save it for the car. in fact, let’s just stop talking right now.”
in a litlte bit, FFJ and i are going to journey up to the shores of Lake Superior to go see David Sedaris read. 50% of the people in my life think this is the nerdiest thing ever, roadtripping to see an author read, the other half think it’s pretty cool. the mere fact that i know TWO other people who are making the journey to Duluth to see Sedaris, well it really impresses nobody but it should say something, shouldn’t it?
i have exactly 26 minutes now to load up jed, kathleen turner overdrive, zippier the wonder cam, and me into Ruby and get my ass to the SLP where FFJ lives.
expect many pictures and much drunken posting later tonight. it will be, fabulous i am sure.
