the post-birthday blues

the only thing better than birthday-presents are the day-after-your-birthday presents (thanks Tam). and even better than day-after-your-birthday are week-after-your-birthday presents. so, you know, there’s still time and shit.

i went out to lunch with my BFK to celebrate. i was feeling pretty shitty before she came. i’m not exactly sure why. it might have been because even though i was so tired i couldn’t see straight last night, i still managed to stay up until after 1 a.m. reading the super kickass book The Kite Runner. maybe it was the post-birthday blues. or maybe it’s because a few people that mean a lot to me TOTALLY FORGOT MY BIRTHDAY, and that kind of stuff just makes you rethink their level of importantness in your life. so i was doing a really good job of drowning myself in self-pity and super-selfish bullshit, because i indulge myself in such nonsense the day after my birthday.

but lunch with BFK has cleared all that up. i got to hang with her and the brand-new baby Maddy. it was good for the soul, new babies often are. and tomorrow i get to have lunch with FFJ, and she will totally dissipate any remaining birthday blues because that’s just the kind of girl she is.

in other news i have a $20 iTunes gift certificate to spend AND a $25 one from Barnes & Noble. any suggestions?
