does this make me look 15

not even Jackasses who rip on me can bring me down today. i’d be a little more upset, if he would have gotten the site’s name right.

wuh, you’re not kidding. and i can’t believe he actually posts that picture of himself. ‘jackass’ is right.

interests of full disclosure…i’m an ‘all-lowercase’ type too…but can he debate thomas kuhn’s structure of scientific revolutions? or write a decent baklava recipe?

    he can just bite me.

thank you looty. you are my new best friend. also, back in the day i could talk about the structure of scientific revolutions until someone’s head fell off (usually mine).

    He doesn’t know what he’s missing! 🙂

Those who “can’t” act like Jackasses. Those who “can” entertain people without having to try.

He’s a turkey, and not even a Grade A one.

This guy’s such a tool. I read the last few days’ worth of his entries and there’s really nothing original except for what he’d written about other blogs. What, does he think that his sole purpose in life is to navigate the Internet for others? He obviously thinks very highly of the rest of the human race, saving us all from the hassle of pointing, clicking and thinking for ourselves. Yeah, he probably thinks Al Gore invented the Internet too, and bestowed this all-important job upon him. Jerk.

There’s never been a statue put up for a critic!

if he doesn’t bother to stick around how does he expect to gather any wisdom? you have so much to share jodi!

and i love all lowercase. i don’t care if it makes me look 15. hell, since i’m gonna be 30 soon, anything that can make me seem younger is a damn good thing!

at least he linked back to you…free publicity is always good…

what an idiot. he got the name wrong and he admits he didn’t read the blog. obviously he has no credibility whatsoever. all bloggers should make tomorrow write-in-all-lowercase day in honor of you.

  10. Thomas 11.May.04 at 7:22 am

in honor of maria’s suggestion, i’ve removed the capital letters from my keyboard.

funny. when i see all lowercase my first thought is of ee cummins, my second is kd lang. both cool in my book.

i’m jumping on the bandwagon too – no more caps for me!

have i said yet that he’s a jackass? and that you’re a much more interesting blogger than he? or how about he must have a super duper tiny penis if he has to put down a super talent to make himself feel better?

I’ve tried the all lower case thing before, but it doesn’t work for me. That is not to say that it doesn’t work for anyone else. I’m in such a habit of ‘proper’ case that when I try the other way, it’s inconsistent. Some are capped and some aren’t, now that looks really dumb.

Worth pointing out: Jackass, Tool, Blowhard, Idiot — all names that you’ve called John DIRECTLY. John, on the other hand, gave exposure to this blog without calling anyone any names! His comment:

“…Every time I see that style, I think it’s written by a 15-year old. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. I didn’t stick around long enough to make that determination.”

Sure I may be fanning a flame in some people’s opinion, but, anyway, way to over-react.

    oh oh.
e e cummings is largely responsible for my fondness for lower case, him and laziness.
but now that you point out the k d lang thing…

    I’m having Serious Second Thoughts.

PERHAPS THE POINT IS TO LEARN HOW TO USE GRAMMER?

Writing in all caps on the net is a sign of shouting… surely writing in lowercase is a sign of ignorance, eg “I don’t know when to use caps and when not to, but I don’t want to shout, so I’ll just go for full time lowercase…”. 15? I would go as far as 12.

You want style? Do it through writing something that is intelligent and in an intelligent way. It’s hard to repect the opinion of someone who can’t work out when to use upper case… the moment I see someone using the word “i” to refer to themselves? Instant wanna-be in my books.
