of all my lamy safaris (there are five of them) the shiny blue one might be my most favorite. the red one’s the oldest, the orange one’s the newest, and the yellows are the most noticible. but i love the quite nobility of the blue safari.
i sat down in class tonight and started rummaging through by big, beautiful mod bag. i couldn’t find ol’ blue. i didn’t think anything of it, because the bag is big there’s lots of room to hide. but as i sat there waiting for class to begin i started getting a little nervous. what if ol’ blue wasn’t there? so i dug through everything again. no sign of blue.
calls begun and put ol’ blue out of my mind. i was pretty sure he’d be there. i mean, i’ve yet to lose a safari, and i’ve had red for like 9 years.
after class the NBFB and i went to the rosalux gallery to see the artguy’s work. it was fun. then we sat down to chat, since he’s been cold and distant lately (ha!). as we chatted, i became preoccupied with blue. so while we talked i took everything out of the big mod bag. everything, and there was no blue.
i was a little broken-hearted, but tried to put on a brave face in front of the NBFB.
eventually we decided to go to our separate homes. as i was walking out to ruby, i had my eyes on the ground more than a little sad over the loss of blue. then as i rounded the back of her bed, what should by eyes behold?
ol’ blue! there he was sitting there in the slushy, dirty snow next to ruby’s back driver’s side tire.
what a fortuitous event. blue and i shall never part.
I’m very glad you found it.
i’m very, very glad that i found the patience to call your cellphone and wait for the 39 rings to get your voice mail to leave my detailed message.
