breaking fingers

there is a special place in hell for marketing types who think they are writer types but who really wouldn’t know how to construct a sentence if they had a gun to their head.

i just get so frustrated. i don’t tell anyone how to do their job. and, more importantly, i don’t do anyone else’s job. i am busy enough with my own thankyouverymuch.

so why, oh why? do people insist on making more work for themselves by writing copy? why?

Oh, just try to get a marketer to trim their copy for websites. My god! Who’s gunna read marketing copy as long as War and Peace on a stupid website? Their egos cannot accept that no one *really* cares about their product. Argh!

egads! tell me about it. i’m the copywriter and all, and i’m begging them to let me make the copy shorter. and then they say i just want shorter copy because i am lazy!! if they even had any idea that it’s much more difficult to write short copy than it is to blather on and on forever and ever.
