nightmares

i had a bad dream. a dream that was so bad it woke me right up in this here middle of the night. i was an FBI agent. i was riding my bike, trying to shake this care that was a following me. the car was black and had a white swastika on the side and was full of Klu Klux Klan. while trying to get away from them, i hid in an apartment building, only to stumble upon three men shooting at each other.

it freaked me out and i tried to stop it, but then one of the men (the guy who played steven keaton from family ties) started shooting at me. i ran out side and immediately headed for some trees. he chased me and kept shooting and shooting.

i made it up a steep hill, with my bike on my shoulder and tried to flag down a passing car. steven keaton followed right behind me. nobody would stop and i got shot in the foot.

then i woke up.

Maybe you feel like people’s intolerant attitudes are always pursuing you.

It’s interesting that your mind picked a father figure (and a tall one at that) to assult you, taking shots at you. Did Michael Gross’ character seem like an ideal father figure during your formative years?

Just a guess, but it sounds like you feel like you’re being constantly attacked. The car with it’s powerful symbols of classic intolerance and it’s appropriately clothed occupants may represent the intolerance you feel around you. Your intellectual and emotional defenses manifest themselves in the bike, your means of escape. The people shooting at each other may represent your family fighting, verbally “taking shots” at each other. The cars that aren’t stopping probably represent your oft stated lonliness, that no one is there for you, to protect you, to whisk you away from the turmoil and pain.

Consider yourself held. Not just hugged, held. Let the storms twist and bluster with their noise and commotion; You’re safe.

Is it allowed for someone shorter than her to hold her?

    Just curious.
