the mystery solved!

Kemps customer service rules!

Dear Ms. Chromey

Thank you for contacting us regarding Kemps Ice Cream. Here are the
definitions of the various types of vanilla:

1. “Vanilla” – strictly vanilla-flavored ice cream.

2. “New York Vanilla” – Vanilla-flavored ice cream with a golden coloring,
for consumers who prefer a product with a “richer, more golden appearance.”

3. “Homemade vanilla” – The ice cream is cooked and held at a high
temperature before being frozen. The “homemade” mix contains cream, milk,
sugar and eggs.

4. “All-Natural-Vanilla” – contains natural vanilla bean specks.

5. “French Vanilla” – uses eggs and has a “custard-like” flavor.

6. “Vanilla Custard” – Has a higher egg content than French Vanilla.

Perhaps it would have been wise to include a point number one, even though it was just for the “plain vanilla.” But I’m glad to know that “New York Vanilla” is just a food coloring scam — I may have to try Vanilla Custard if I ever see it offerred.
