ok, since pms is knocking on the door, please allow me 7 minutes to be a complete, total and utter snarky bitch. i’ve got some pet peeves that have been driving me batty lately and i’m sure once i vent i’ll feel much better.
i’m not too good with that keeping stuff inside stuff.
here goes. i’ve been doing a lot of blog reading lately. i’m a voyeur from way back. i like reading about other people’s lives. i read more than just what’s in the good taste club. anyway, i don’t understand this whole linking thing. well, i understand the linking thing, i just don’t understand the need to rate links on your site. are you trying to make people feel bad? to me it’s like saying, “you’re good, but not that good. see these people, these people over in this list are way better.” blech.
secondly, i have really good self-esteem regarding most everything about myself, except how i look. . . this might explain the next pet peeve to some degree. when will girls (i’d call them women but clearly they are much too immature for such a title) realize that they are much cuter, prettier and more desirable when they aren’t proclaiming it all the damn time.
i’ve read roughly 482 sites with some chickiepoo proclaiming how everyman in a 394 radius of her wants her. puh-leez. my wise-old roommate shelley once told me that if you are secure with who you are be it pretty, smart, rich, what have you, you won’t tell people about it all the time. they will just know because you know.

finally, i thought i was quite possibly the most boring person on the entire face of the planet. i was wrong.
Yeah! Preach it sister!!! I’d like to whinge too, but I’ve got nothing to whinge about at the moment. So I’ll just piggy back on your rantings, thank you very much!

the linking thing:
always, usually, frequently, sometimes… how do people make these decisions? when does someone get moved from one part of the list to another?
for the rankers out there: you KNOW how often you read which pages, why does the rest of the world need to know? is it because you’re too busy to be able to pick through a list of a million journals and remember which ones you like? or is it that you think it’s a huge status symbol for someone to be listed on your page, and you want to keep the populace hungry for your love by making several levels of coolness?
it’s been a pat peeve of mine for such a long time jodi, i eliminated my links page over a year ago. granted, i tend to take things to extremes.
the whole linking thing finally annoyed me so much i just stopped putting any sort of link lists on my site at all.
the only reason i have a link list is for my convenience. but, in my defense, it’s purely alphabetical. =)
the whole rating thing doesn’t really make sense. I arrange mine in accordance to what it is, ie blog or other.
and for ranking people, when there’s a often, rarely, and other list, as boring as i am, its depressing to have somebody actually say, i read your page, just these other ones are better.
fortunately i’m not one of those people who says all the guys want me. that would be frightening to me…
