calli sent me a wonderful little note thanking me for writing about being a fat girl. it’s odd that the one piece that i cannot bear to read, is the one thing people love the most. i get more hits from that column than anything i’ve ever written on backwash.
i just wonder what it is about that piece that people like so much.

Because it is honest. And well written too – but that is all of yoru stuff, I would say the open honesty is what attracts people.
Yes, the honesty. That’s exactly it. I think because big people are so easy and acceptable to make fun of that a lot of us are really good at hiding how we feel. Being so open about it is scary. It’s something that I need to write about myself, but I’m not really there yet.

Saying no one is fat is like saying no one is blind. I can love myself from here to Thursday and I’ll still be fat.
