a gathering of elders

Virginia comes to my desk daily to check out the word of the day. Mostly we know the words, they aren’t always that spectacular. Yesterday’s word was caucus.

“Caucus? I know that one,” Virginia said.
“Yeah, it’s a word of unknown origin. It seems John Adams was the first to use it. It might be an old Indian word for a gathering of elders,” I Cliff Clavened.
“Why don’t you use your powers for good,” Ella asked.

If only I could harness all the brain power wasted on useless trivia, I could take over the world.
