hello darkness my old friend

laural hates simon and garfunkel, i don’t know why. i think she might be crazy.

i’ve had the song “sound of silence” on constant loop in my head all day. i am not sure why. i haven’t listened to simon and garfunkel in ages, but i love that song.

it sorta freaks my mom out that i love that song so much. i discovered simon and garfunkel my junior year in high school and immediately fell in love. sound of silence is my favorite. it freaks mom out because that was always my biological father’s favorite song. perhaps musical taste is genetic?

today was lazy. my sleep-deprived brain couldn’t handle too much. i lounged about my parents’ house doing laundry and watching “runaway bride.” i like julia roberts. that movie makes me all sentimental and schmoopy. probably not the best thing to watch when one is tired and menstrual. i only cried a few times. so that’s not so bad, right?

i wanted to write something tonight, or design something. do something creative, but nothing was coming. everything i wrote sounded like crap. maybe i am asking too much right now. maybe i will just go to bed and read and hope sleep is my friend tonight.

“april, come she will” is a simon and garfunkel song that i like very much — although it makes me sad, because april is when my dog died.

this message board is pretty funny. i just stumbled across it tonight because sound of silence was stuck in my head one night when i had a head full of acid…and i wanted to search for other implicationsof the song. anyway, i’m sending this message out into cyber space in the thoughts that someone might come across it searching for the same thing.
