Darling ones, my cup runneth over. My birthday isn’t until tomorrow and today I got two wonderful, fabulous, super-thoughtful gifts.
andrea swept in with a wonderful copy of the ‘The Phantom Tollbooth.’ I remember reading this book in about fourth grade. I was grounded for reasons I cannot recall, but didn’t mind so much because I had this book.
And. . . get ready for this you’re gonna flip.
My super wonderful, stupendous, sexxy, amazingly thoughtful friend shawn sent me a copy of cat’s cradle by kurt vonnegut. I opened the package and I thought, ‘hrmph, I already have this book.’ Then, I opened up the book and there, written by the very man himself is: ‘For Dear Jodi- Kurt Vonnegut, May 4, 2001. Then there is a funky self-portrait of mr. Vonnegut, drawn by his own hand.
When I saw that, I immediately started to shake and my eyes started to water. OH MY GOD. When I get home tonight I will take a picture if, to y’all can see it.
Isn’t that one of the best birthday gifts ever?
hmmph, upstaged as usual.
;P
But you’re right, that is the best gift ever – jealous!!
Shawn is the best person ever. I am jealous and maybe a bit aroused by his thoughtfulness.
I think he deserves some action for this. How far away are you two?
he lives in massachusetts and i live in minnesota. you might remember shawn from alt.music.soulcoughing.
I’m so jealous! You suck! And happy birthday. 🙂
