Typing at the coffee shop III

The couple next to the window are talking about God. She has shiny blond hair, he has greasy brown hair, a goatee, and a wedding ring. He is telling her about the biblical dude whose name I can’t remember who ordered the kid to be chopped in half when the two women both claimed him as her own. He also has a neon orange Michael Crichton book next to him. Also, she has a small cross tattooed on the top of her foot, underneath her pinkie toe.

The old ladies at the table next to me, the one with the walker leaning against it, are talking about cancer and chemotherapy and how one of them has to do something about it and quit just talking about it.

The middle-aged ladies behind me are talking about Hilary, Obama, and superdelegates.

A little slice of life right there in a coffee shop. The young conjecture about the meaning of life, the middle-aged concern themselves with economy and survival, while the aged just try to figure out whether or not it’s worthwhile staving off death.
