there’s nothing like a chemical spill in your own kitchen to bring you quickly and crashingly down to earth. it seems that last night a bottle of tide was mysteriously knocked over on its side, the contents of which slowly leaked out all over the kitchen. this wouldn’t be so bad if someone, who shall remain nameless, hadn’t plopped the bottle of tide into the kitchen cupboard in a vane attempt to get it out of her way while she was microwaving a chicken breast as part of last night’s supper.
since i haven’t eaten yet today, there was no need to go into the kitchen until i decided to do the laundry (because as mentioned before that’s where the liquid tide is). there is liquide tide everywhere. all over the microwave, the counter (and the mail from the last week and a half that usually coexists peacefully with the microwave on the same counter), the floor. it’s everywhere.
do you have any idea how hard it is to clean spilled soap? it gets bubbly and messy and it takes forever to rinse out the towel.
so, being the supergenius that i am i decided that i would use a few towels to clean up the soapy mess. then, instead of the rinsing the bubbly towels, i would merely toss them in the laundry with some underpants and what not.
brilliant? i think so.
in other news, my kitchen smells like a mountain spring.
Don’t you own a mop?
If not,
Step 1: Buy a mop.
Step 2: oh, nevermind…
That’s a good idea to throw the soapy towels in with some dirty clothes. Me and my mop never would have thought of that.
i don’t have a mop. i also don’t own a blender, mixer, or a coffee maker. i am fighting adulthood every step of the way.
try cleaning up soap out of carpet! but, i also resorted to the towel solution. god, we’re brilliant. =)
Now I know what to get you for Christmas. And your birthday.
And the following Christmas.
I put some towels soaked in Dawn dishsoap in the washing machine once. I thought Lawrence Welk’s bubble machine somehow got in my basement and was set on high!! What a dumbass!
