after picking up ruby at the shop i went out to dinner with sister #3 and 9 3/4.

since i am a psycho worrier and had so many problems with mechanics before, i was convinced something was still wrong with ruby. also, the check engine light is on– and it wasn’t on before.

so we’re at the restaurant talking about the car and how i’m convinced it’s more broken than it was when i brought it in. as we’re chatting the couple at the table next to us get up to leave. the older woman stops at our table and we all assumed she was going to coo over the peanut when she starts in:
“i was just listening to your conversation and i heard what she said about getting ripped off because you are a woman. . . ”

and then she went into this 10 minute diatribe about how one place tried to rip her off but Midas was so good to her and blah, blah, blah.

yeah. midas was the place i had all the problems with in december.

after the lady finished lecturing and left sister #3 turned to me and said, “i am soooo glad you didn’t say anything about how you hate midas. i just kept saying to myself, ‘jodi don’t say anything’.”
