we can have a club

jaycie’s obsessed with clubs. i dunno how or why it started just that she needs some sort of club. so tonight whilst babysitting (sister #2 and stinky were signing up to become a big sister and big brother) we had this oh-so-interesting conversation.

“grody, you wanna join a club?”

“sure, what kind of club?”

“well we could have the hair club, the princess club, the collecting pins club, the stir in the bowls club or the tigers club.”

“wow, that’s a lot of clubs.”

“yeah, you can be in lots of them. kiki and i are in the hairclub.”

“what club can i be in?”

“we’ll be in the tigers club.”

“ok, what do i have to do?”

“nothing, you just have to be in the club.”

“right on, that’s my kind of club.”

“you say right on a lot, how come?”

“because it’s funny.”

“i don’t think it’s funny.”

“well, because you aren’t funny.”

“but i want to be in the funny club.”

“everyone wants to be in the funny club, but everyone’s not funny.”

“you’re not so funny aunt bad lady.”

at that point i had to pick her up and tickle her and zrbbbt on her belly. because she can’t argue with that.

Straight up, this Tuesday has been fuct 6 ways to Sunday. However, I’ve returned to this message, this conversation, this beauty of a little story, three times today so far.

And everytime, I’ve laughed my fool head off. It doesn’t matter who I really am; just some silly annonymous fan, but thanks so much. To quote Clint Eastwood, you made my day :).

That Jaycie must be the coolest kid ever. Like, president of the cool kids club even.
