our newest bit of time-wasting, team-building nonsense here in the office is playing hangman. al, the cutest girl on earth™ and seamus each have a whiteboard outside their cube. seamus started an anonymous hangman game on the one outside al’s cube and the idea has spread. someone will randomly walk by and guess a letter, writing it on the whiteboard. the puzzlemaster will then fill in the letters or draw a body part. whomever guesses the puzzle correctly gets to be the new puzzlemaster. this is entirely more fun than it probably should be. but you know we’re dorky corporate drones, we need to find fun wherever we can. so far the puzzles have included:
traffic
camilla parker bowles
clark w. griswald
donner and blitzen
sugar plums

jason, the new guy, who was an unknowning victim of an intense and short-lived new guy crush, has suggested that we be more accountable for our guesses. he wants us to initial the body parts with the initial of whomever guessed wrong.

he was just explaining his new idea to seamus and kappa.

“jodi doesn’t like this idea,” jason said.
“i love the idea,” i shouted from my desk seven feet away. “i’m all about heaping shame upon people.”
“it’s not about heaping shame,” he said. “it’s about showing people where there weaknesses are and how to improve.”

now we know why he has an office and i have a cube. it’s all about that damn spin.
