today i ventured just left of the middle of nowhere to sister #3’s abode, that’s where kiddopalooza 2005 was held. in attendance were jack, 8; jaycie, 7; max, 6; ryan, 6; cade, 3; bailey, 3; hayden, 3; nolan, 1; and liam, 2 weeks.
there were more kids in that confined space then i have seen since elementary school. it was, of course, a blast. jodi hanson’s twin daughters are a wonder to behold. it’s so weird to look into twin faces that look so exactly like her face. i love it because hayden has decided that she will only respond the name rainbow and she also gave a me a sex ed lesson.
“can i hold her?” she asked about liam in my arms.
“he’s a boy.”
“it is not,” she said.
“yes it is,” i said.
“nuhuh all babies are girls and then one day you get your peanuts and become a boy.”
oh yes, of course. how could i have been so wrong?
