the long way home

i took the long way home, driving fast in the bright moonlit night in an attempt to extend this absolutely perfect evening.

i wasn’t feeling real swell when i left work for the Open Book. i felt a little like i got run over by a truck, and i looked quite a lot like i did.

but then my NBFB arrived and we chatted and he made me laugh. we talked to a few people from class and listened to robert read a wonderful, wonderful story. it was great and made me feel like i have so very far to go. but there are aspirations, and i want to read a story as well as he did. perhaps someday.

afterwards, me and NBFB chatted some more and it’s so nice to get his insights on what we’re reading. it’s just so nice to have someone to talk to. i do so adore him. i was really looking forward to meeting the mrs. alas, she couldn’t make it, that will have to wait until another time when she’s not quite so busy.

it was absolutely perfect. today, was a good day to be alive.

    I had fun too.
By the way, remember when you were making fun of me for being a 30-something loser and I said I was a “hip-happening guy” and then you reminded me I like Sting and then I started talking about all the Metal bands I listen to?
The name of the new band I bought today (their CD) is “Spineshank”. Yeah, I know. I love their name too.
Anyway, I’m emailing you one of their tracks right now. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.

for the record, i was not making fun of you for being a 30-something loser, merely making fun of you for poking at the beautiful, young jen’s beau.

also, nose rings on men– just doesn’t work for me. what do you think?

also, this is loud stuff that just sounds a little growly and what not. i’m not sure if i like the words, because i haven’t a clue what he’s saying besides “what i can’t control.”
