i’m starting to feel soft and squishy towards someone i definitely shouldn’t be feeling squishy towards, this no good and generally bad, bad.
in other news, i had another blowout with the techwriters who very clearly hate me and like to yell at me. i lost my cool twice in the past two days.
my brain isn’t connected today. it’s floating off somewhere in the ether and dreaming about smooching boys and the changing leaves. not good at all, since i have to write a newsletter today.
in other news i’m sick of all the music i like yet again. what are you listening to currently?
in the winamp3 now: cheap trick’s surrender, which is really no good because it reminds me of being at laughing luigi’s and having crushes on the cute guy from my creative writing class (TCGFMCWC) and jeff johnson.
what is it about fall that just makes you want to get lost in memories and romance?
Cheap Trick was my high-school band. Rick Nielson was my home room prez — Rockford (IL) Guilford, class of ’67. Bun E is a very close personal family friend. Bet you didn’t know that about me. The band once took my sister with them on a trip to England. On the Concorde!
This morning listening to: Caroline Herring, “wellspring”, which I just reviewed for rockzillaworld. Guy Forsyth’s “Voices Inside”. Wendy Colonna’s “Red”.
Small world! Rockford is my hometown, too. Cheap Trick was way big during my time (class of ’80, East High).
the be good tanyas!
mm, kissing.
problem is, i can’t get anyone to kiss me.
To DAINEC (sorry, Jodes.) Might you know my brother, Kip Kaske?, he was at Guilford around that same time. This year at the Waterfront Fest (I wasn’t there, I live in New Mexio), Trick played, and also Harmony Riley (featuring one of Rick’s sons) and Holland Zander’s band.
Rush -Moving Pictures; Boston -1st album; Steely Dan -The Royal Scam; Collective Soul -Disciplined Breakdown
if *i* can find someone to kiss me, you surely can.
I was really into Led Zepplin in HS. So much so that I burned myself out on them and don’t listen to them much any more.
Currently I’m into the new Jane’s Addiction and most recent Filter album.
Have you ever listened to Jill Sobule? I think you’d really like her. Download anything from the album Happy Town. Tegan and Sara are good fun too.
I interviewed Tegan & Sara on the radio when they were in Albuquerque opening for Neil Young, a couple of years ago. They were really cute girls — talked alot about their “pride” — but way, way cocky.
