i bought some new pens after lunch today. yeah, i know i did the same thing yesterday. but you know, the quest for blue pens springs eternal. anyway, these pens aren’t airplane safe like the other ones.
in fact, the new pens include an important warning which states: “when traveling on a plane, remember to uncap the pen with the tip facing upward to reduce any risk of ink leakage.”

Do you remember the pen commercial from when we were kids which showed the astronaut writing upside-down, sideways, all-over-the-place, and the pen still kept writing? That was twenty-five a few years ago, and our pen technology hasn’t improved to the point where it’s safe to open one with the tip down?
I blame Canada.
Heathen, I like to play it safe. When I’m on a plane, I even uncap my PENIS upward to avoid leakage…

I love pens, too. I like super-fine point pens–my current favorites are Pilot P-500 Extra-Fine. And those Micron pens you can get at art supply stores.
Maybe a trip to the office supply store after work is in order…
