i went with kari while she visited Jakey on his first day at the new daycare. while she checked up on him, i sat in the care alone.
while sitting in the car thinking about children, i decided that if i were a lesbian and i had a partner and we wanted to have a child it would be best if we fertilized one of her eggs and then i carried the baby or vice versa. if we decided to have two children we could resverse the process. i decided that would be most fair because then we’d both have a biological child and have had the chance to experience pregnancy and giving birth.
my only mistake was sharing this declaration with kari. she just wanted to know why i thought such a thing. because, well, i’m not a lesbian and really have no such need for the plan.
my response, “but if i were, i’d be all set. sheesh, i wish i were a lesbian.”
OK, first you turn 30, then you’re making contingency plans for being a lesbian mom. I hope you find a guy to make you happy VERY soon before you start to make sweaters for the cats in the neighborhood.
