so was it any good?

i finished off blue angel the other night. now that it’s had time to settle a bit, i can say that i really enjoyed it. the ending was something of a disappointment, but sometimes that’s not a bad thing. usually i get frustrated when a book ends up all tied in a pretty bow. this one, while you knew what was gonna happen, you saw this coming from like page 6, kept you going. you wanted to see how this all unfolded. i really liked ol’ swenson, i felt bad that he lost most everything just because he’s a silly romantic.

i really wanted to know more about angela (the student swenson fucked his life up for).

while i was reading throught the harrassment trial, i kept waiting for a shocker. for a surprise, a bomb, something to change the inevitable tide of swenson’s life and it never came. which somehow makes blue angel much less predictable, despite knowing what’s gonna happen.

i jsut wish i knew what angela’s motivation was. what her deal was. was it a set-up from the begining?

also, swenson kept saying he almost cheated on his wife. i didn’t like that. there was penetration, just because he did not complete the act doesn’t mean he didn’t cheat. it just brings up the question of, ‘what is cheating?’

is an orgasm cheating?

does cheating require penetration?

is just smooching cheating?

i think cheating is when you have the impulse and you act upon it. it might just be smooching and rubbing someone that is not your significant other. i don’t think there needs to be actual intercourse or orgasms for it to be considered cheating.

what do you think?
