i can’t decide if the fact that i edit all my html for work using notepad is a sign that i am good or that i am just too damn lazy to fire up the html editor.
I think it’s a little of both, as I do the same thing when I’m doing updates to my web pages. It’s just faster than opening Dreamweaver or the like, ya know?
I find it depends on what I have to do. If it’s a big bunch of nested tables, image maps, etc… then I use Dreamweaver. If it’s basic formatting stuff, then it’s notepad.

i actually found a really good and cheap color coded editor, notepad on steroids, that we use at work for editing html, scripts, vb & c code… pretty cool tool, called editPlus.
you can customize colors, create macros, set up autocomplete, etc. for the lazy geek in all of us… and no, i am not plugging it cause i get a commission… it’s just cool and cheap!
i use CuteHTML, which is basically the same thing. color codes, has line numbers, that sort of thing. very helpful. and you can’t download it for FREE.
