first sister #3 wrote a paper about me. now it seems as though sister #2 has followed in her footsteps. i sent her some random link to look at and she e-mailed me back saying that it’s funny i should e-mail her right then because she had just finished writing a paper about who or what has shaped her into the person she is today. she said that she listed me as one of the greatest influences on her life.

needless to say, i was completely and totally astounded. of course, i had to find out what she said– hoping to get the whole paper. nope. i just got this list:
1. You introduced me to books
2. You were the first to go to college
3. You always made me be smart
4. You introduced me to politics

it sorta makes me want to cry. it amazes me that i’ve had such an influence on her. i guess being sister #1, i don’t realize the effect that older sisters can have on your life, and it just make me feel so worthwhile to have had such an influence on the lives of my younger sisters. especially now, when i’ve been feeling so utterly and completely useless.
