Unfortunately my state, Texas, will probably be the last one to vote for this because we are governed by asshats -from the governor (past and present idiots) to our senators. But yay for the 12 states who are on the right side of history!

I’m still amazed how quickly everything turned in a year, or I think Gov. Dayton might have said it was 17 months from the amendment to the law. I hope that means the tide will keep turning everywhere.

Also, I will manipulate the “I’m proud of your flyover state” portion of your quote until the end of the time.

You can call me out all you want today. It’s really tough for me to be cynical or sarcastic about this. I felt the same way when Maryland passed marriage equality last November. I’m proud of your flyover state today.

In reply to matthew baiocchi. I'm right there with you, pal. Even though MN now has marriage equality my Representative Mike Beard and my Senator Eric Pratt voted against it. So yeah, my governmental representatives are all for discrimination and bigotry. GRRRrrrr. . .

“constitutional amendment on the ballot to define marriage as being between one man and one woman” – unfortunately my state did just this. when i contacted my representative (who voted for the measure) he stated that he was just representing the majority viewpoint of his constituency…and here i thought it was his job to protect the rights of his constituency. ridiculous little fucker.
