Maybe by the time I updated last night the hamster who runs all those automated twittery things was asleep? Who knows.

But yeah, movies are getting longer which is really what keeps me from the theaters. I have a hard time sitting still for 2+ hours & I eventually spend the last 20 minutes of any moving chanting “SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!” in my head because I am done.

I find it the extremest form of arrogance/egotism/something when creators take advantage of their audiences like that (same goes for 5+ minute song writers & 500+ book writers). I think you have to earn every single minute after the 2-hour mark & Luhrmann didn’t earn it.

gatsby movie was beautiful cinematographically (is that a word? – ‘it sure was purty,’ is what i’m trying to say) speaking but, yes, far too long ( although this is starting to happen far more frequently with movies and i wonder if it’s me getting older or movies getting longer).
