Oh, I know that feeling all too well. I did that with Mr. Green’s The Fault in Our Stars. I’m so glad you loved it. I want everyone to love it, though I was kind of bummed when Sister #2 didn’t like it at all.

Did you have a problem with the way Park’s mom was portrayed? My sister said she thought the “ching chong” of her speech was so racist she didn’t know what to do with the book.

I had trouble with it at first but didn’t see it as racist but merely an attempt at being honest. Park’s mom being a Korean immigrant wouldn’t have spoken flawless English.

Read all the books! The best part of Eleanor & Park is that reading it reminded me of the very reason I fell in love with books. Such a great experience.
