I had to read a lot of reviews to find someone(s) who agree with me. I found the Joe story line to be beyond disturbing. I’ll hand it to Bender, however, she got me on that one. After all, why should we care about something so preposterous, but I felt icky after the chair scene. I thought the ending was redemptive and could have accepted the story as a metaphor had it not been for Joe and the whole “gift” business.
