I love your list- I’m a 15 year old girl and I’m from Michigan but I LOVE John Mellencamp like you wouldn’t believe!!!!!!!!! He’s my second favorite artist of all time, with Bob Seger as #1. Anyway, I love your list, but there are tons of underrated John Mellencamp songs that need to get more recognition. Some of my favorite lesser-known songs by him are:
1.) Justice and Independence
2.) Crazy Ones
3.) Big Jack
4.) I’m Not Running Anymore
5.) The Full Catastrophe
6.) Lawless Times
7.) Stones In My Passway
8.) Kid Inside
9.) Dream Killing Town
10.) Junior
Also, where is R.O.C.K. In The USA on your list? I LOVE THAT SONG. It’s just… brilliant. Love how he mentions all those great artists. And I also think Authority Song is better than Hurts So Good. Oh- and Pop Singer should be on this list. Y’know what? Screw it. All his songs kick ass. There really is no top 10 LOL!
I’m really excited because I’m going to my very first John Mellencamp concert in 6 days and it’s in Detroit and I CAN’T WAIT. His new album “Plain Spoken” is just absolutely PHENOMENAL and I can’t wait to scream when he walks on stage! Oh I love John Mellencamp!!!! I love everything from his first album to his most recent one! I think I’m mentally married to John Mellencamp, to be honest hehe. 🙂 <3
