Here's where I find myself in the same conundrum as you did with Lamb. See, as a music snob (verified and certified by more than a few music writer/musician/DJ/fellow music snob, etc), Pearl Jam is one of those 90's grunge bands you have to like. Kind of like how every indie music snob is supposed to like Radiohead or Sonic Youth. Well, there are a few Pearl Jam songs I like, but I can't say much for their library of music. My putting in a Pearl Jam CD would make me irritable and otherwise unhappy because they just don't "do it" for me. I appreciate and understand that taste is in the ear of the beholder when it comes to music, yet there are those few bands that you're just supposed to "get" if you're "in." Like hippies and Janice Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who (all of whom I like, btw. Maybe I'm a hippie?). But I can't say I really "like" them that much. Only one song of theirs has ever made it onto a mix CD I've made, and even then, it was because the person who was receiving the CD was a fan of theirs, not because I was.

So, all this finger vomit just to say I can't relate on this level of Pearl Jam worship.

After dinner tonight however, I did listen to the Replacements and bopped down the road happy as a turtle on a warm stone in the middle of a small creek on a nice sunny day. On the Replacements, I can relate. :)
