Having suffered the painful finger tips of guitar practice, I decided last year to ask for a mandolin from Santa, smaller instrument, smaller strings, less pain, but still calluses. As I recall, some people would use nylon strings to ease pain, but I don’t know if they would work on your guitar.

I started learning how to play the guitar a year ago. The calluses will come. Just keep at it. Pretty soon, you’ll play something that sounds like the song you meant to play, and your life is gonna change.

Jodi…this kind site has helped many of us guitar underdogs. It has the chords (simply plagerized for easy playing and callus creation) to all of the songs we tell everyone who matters that we hate but seceretly adore.
