I saw Sedaris and he is more delish live than a Monday afternoon blizzard. I would gladly fight his boyfriend for one taste. Ok, maybe I’ve taken this a bit too far. Never mind.

Oh, and, I’m also told (though I really don’t know if this is true or not) Duluth is home to the largest white ghetto in the world, the central hillside neighborhood. How “largest” would be defined, I have no idea.

Now there’s a tourist destination! White ghetto? Sounds like an oxymoron… heh.

Duluth is really a city with dual personalities. Or one with an evil twin, if you will.
There’s the touristy, scenic side. And it’s really pretty with neat B&B’s and nice hotels and shops. Someone mentioned Fitgers. That’s really a brewery, with a bar, with a hotel.
But the city is old and depressed. There are more seedy dives in that town than I’ve seen (next to Superior, WI). Places like the “Come on Inn,” the Tiwns Bar, the Kozy… they’re somewhat scary stops.
Iff’n you go to Duluth (that’s right, I said ‘iff’n’), it’s worth it to check out the road less traveled, just for the color.

you’d be happy (almost impressed, even!) that i’ve actually been reading david sedaris. a lot of david sedaris. although, with his books, that probably wouldn’t surprise you.

i have to thank my cousin for the recommendation, but still. national news: wendy is reading a book without pictures!
