The company by the name of Roland has been involved in combining music and computers for over 20 years now.

I used to checkout a Roland MIDI box from school to hookup to my Apple IIe/IIgs when I was younger…with it you could not only produce realistic sounds out of that ancient hardware, but you could connect a MIDI-aware keyboard as well.
