After the suicide of my cousin in October our daughter started having school phobia and anxiety attacks. Another mom heard the screaming and crying, and said her daughter went through it in 3rd grade too. One of her remedies was the lavender and chamomile baby lotion, which the little girl would take into the school restroom and rub on her arms and inhale and calm down a little.
Also, she suggested a health food store remedy, Theanine (Sun Theanine) capsules which help calm and take the freakouts away. I've tried the capsules myself and they help during PMS too or just on one of those knot in the stomach type days. You know I'm not a doctor, but it might help as well. It was wonderful to have someone else give us some helpful hints.
I think that's why those Indian women used to go off to the cloistered teepee so they could share remedies and relax from the day to day.
