I know it sounds lame, but there’s something about being who you are – and liking who you are – that’s attractive, and it doesn’t have anything to do with being beautiful or bitchy.

(Grain of salt, though… I’m married and we just celebrated our 17th anniversary, so what do I know? But know this: I’m sorta plain and don’t wear makeup… my hair is greying and I’m not thin… I’m not mysterious at all. Yet I know men still find me oddly attractive, including my incredibly wonderful life partner.)

And why have someone love you for someone other than yourself?

For some strange reason men seem very attracted to cool, aloof, almost bitchy women. Especially when they’re beautiful. And even when they’re not. There’s that hint of mystery and these women have self-posession I think men admire.
