I avoid the whole situation of being late by trudging off to work at 6:45am (5:45 your time, and if you’re ever up that early, I hope it’s for something other than work) when my spouse does.

It’s fun being at work when no one else is here; There’s no lights on at all and the constant hum of the ventilation system drones on without being interrupted with the countless telephone conversations yet to be made. The first light I turn on is the one in the fridge as I stow away my treasure trove of French Vanilla Slim-Fast and Diet Mt. Dew. My techie office area has lights under the cabinets, which are the only ones I need. This is my private moment of Zen, until 8:30 or so when my co-techie comes in. Her first order of the day is to turn on the garish overhead fluorescent lights and web-radio.

But seriously, take a shower before you take a bath; Taking a bath when you’re dirty just makes a nasty funk soup to simmer in.

When I’m “sick” and I have the craving for a double quarter pounter with cheese and catsup (or ketchup if you will), I stick with the “drive-thru” service. (Between the blatant misspellings of through and doughnuts [i.e. donuts], no wonder home-schooling has become so popular)

Pamper yourself; paint your toenails, take a shower THEN a long bath, try on all the clothes you own in various combinations; just do something for you and you alone.
