A while back I found a few verses that I had tucked into the cover of a novel many years ago. I read it, intending to laugh at how wretched it was, but was actually quite surprised at the sharp, incisive tone and the smooth, stylish cadence.

It was good, and I enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of the days when I still thought I could change the world.
