Sounds way too familiar. I started kindergarten at age 3, unbeknownst to everyone except my parents and the school principal. Damn teacher kept saying that I was "somewhat socially lagging" behind the other kids. Once she found out that I was two years younger than the rest, she changed her tune. When I reached middle school, all the other girls had boobs and liked boys, while I was still wearing Garanimals and playing with Barbies. Thankfully, by then all of my teachers knew how old I was, else I would have been remanded to special ed for the rest of my damn life.

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher wrote on my report card: "Jenny's sweet but not very bright."

I've never quite gotten over the feeling that I'm just not as bright as the other kids.

that nearly happened to me, because I was so shy and quiet I wouldn't speak to anyone. My teacher told my mom her fears, my mom laughed in her face and asked, "Have you tried letting her read you a book?"
