This sucker was at least five centimeters long MINUS antennae and wings and fangs. I was told it was a spruce bug by a local, and that “they bite… HARD.” Anyone have any clues?

Also her friends mom saw a spruce bug on the back of her neck. Today there is this growth on the side of her neck near the bites she has 3 besides the groth that are red and inflamed the growth is not. Any ideas of what this is?
