my explanation: attraction close-up is very much a physical thing -- let&#039;s call the physical aspect a &quot;necessary but not sufficient&quot; piece of the puzzle.  if someone doesn&#039;t &quot;do it for you&quot; on some level physically, all their other great qualities don&#039;t add up to squat.  however, great distances allow us to bypass the initial physical thing.  furthermore, it&#039;s much harder to perceive negative qualities from a distance.  the internet allows us to focus on good things and ignore shortcomings.
