But that story reminds me of being beaned in the eye by a softball thrown by my adopted half-sister, when I was 8. Except it WAS intentional, but (at the time) I was humiliated to admit that I’d gotten a black eye from a girl. Nice to know that I’ve changed since then.

At the emergency room the nurses kept asking her if she got hit often and wouldn’t believe her no matter how much she said it was an accident even when she started laughing. I guess it’s better than the opposite though.
